Students: Sustainability Living Learning Community (LLC)

The Sustainability LLC is for students who are learning about sustainability at college while making sustainability a core component of their personal lives. Members of this community use their knowledge about and passion for sustainability to contribute to Mason's efforts to create the greenest campus and university community in Virginia.

The Sustainability LLC is open to all students, freshmen through seniors. LLC residents identify and develop their leadership capacities as they work in teams to make sustainability-related improvements in the Mason campus and culture. Students in this LLC take Leadership for Sustainability, a year-long course in which they design and implement campus greening projects funded by the Office of Sustainability.  LLC residents also hike with the student Environmental Action Group, tour nearby sustainable farms and green buildings, till the soil in Mason's organic vegetable garden, and collaborate with professors from many disciplines who work at the cutting edge of sustainability studies.

Would you like to apply for the Sustainability LLC? It's easy. Click here to visit Housing and Residence Life, where you can find an application to live in the residence halls. The LLC application is part of the basic housing application.
